Question: I bought a satsuma citrus tree for my patio. It has grown very well. Can I plant it outside?

Answer: Most citrus varieties, satsuma included, can’t take hard freezes for any prolonged period of time. If it drops into the 20’s in your area, and if it stays there for more than an hour or two at a time, better leave it in a large patio pot and shuttle it into protection when it’s really cold.
