Question: When and how do I plant garlic in Texas?

Answer: Unlike onions, garlic is planted in the fall. Set each clove fat-end-down, 2 inches deep and 3 or 4 inches apart in their rows. Allow the garlic to grow through the winter and early spring, then harvest it in late spring, when the tops begin to fall over. Store it in a cool, dry spot in your garage.
