Question: Do I need to remove the “suckers” from my tomato plants?

Answer: Old thinking was that those side shoots should be pinched out, but we have come to realize that they, too, will produce fruit. They also will shade the ripening fruit, lessening the chance of sunscald and cracking. Push the side branches back into the cages and let them grow.
