Question: Dahlias My dahlias just aren’t amounting to anything. They seem so lanky and weak.

Answer: Dahlias are not suited to Texas’ hot summers. They’re suffering heat problems. With the exception of the dwarf seed-grown types, and unless you’re in the Davis Mountains of far West Texas, dahlias really don’t grow very well here. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can do to help them, either. Switch to some other, easier flower.
