Question: I have a Philodendron selloum that has gotten so large that I can’t get it through the door. Can I plant it outdoors?

Answer: Only in the Rio Grande Valley and in deep South Texas. Elsewhere, it will freeze when temperatures drop into the high 20s. Either find a way to keep it alive during the winter, or make plans to switch over to the much more compact variety called ‘Xanadu.’ It’s much more small-space-friendly.
