Question: What side of my house would be best for my greenhouse? How much will shade trees impact it?

Answer: It’s probably best, as hot as our late springs, summer and early falls can be, to provide natural shading from noon on. For that reason, a spot that is either east of your house or east of a large shade tree would be ideal. If you’re growing cacti, flowering houseplants or many different types of seedlings and cuttings, you may need even brighter light, and if you’re growing primarily foliage plants, you would be well advised to have a little more shade.
