Question: What trees have the best fall color?

Answer: Unfortunately, Texas isn’t known for its great fall foliage. Several of our plants, however, do color up fairly reliably. Ask your local nurseryman for specific recommendations, but start with Chinese pistachio, sweet gum, ornamental pears, red oak, ginkgo, maples, sumac, persimmon and crape myrtles.
