Question: Why are the leaves of my Boston ivy tan? What can I do to get them to green up again?

Answer: That’s usually damage done by lace bugs. These are pinhead-sized insects with clear wings. You may not actually see the adult insects, but you’ll see their black droppings on the backs of the leaves. Once the leaves are tan, there isn’t much you can do to get those leaves back to green again, but you can protect new foliage by using a systemic insecticide. Watch closely, then spray when you see the very first tan specks start to develop.
