Brown Patch Arrives in St. Augustine

If you have spots that look like this in your St. Augustine turf you’re seeing early onset of the brown patch fungus. Pull on the leaf blades and you’ll see how they easily pull loose from the runners. While the disease isn’t fatal in its own right, it weakens the grass and it certainly makes your lawn look terrible in the process. As soon as you see spots that look like these, treat with a labeled turf fungicide. Water only in early morning hours to minimize spread of the fungus.
