Square Watermelons

Space is at a premium in Japan. We’ve all heard about how compactly they live.  So, when a friend sent me these photos and the story that accompanies them, I thought it might be possible, also that it might be of interest to e-gardeners.

But, our son, who works at CNN, has taught us to question everything we receive on the Internet. The place most seem to go to validate their stories is snopes.com.  So, I entered "square watermelon" in their search line and this is the link I found.  The story isn’t new.  Click here to see it.
