Question: My azaleas are losing a branch here and there. I see absolutely no signs of insects, and it doesn’t look like any kind of leaf spot. What might cause that?

Answer: There is a stem dieback that sometimes (rarely) kills an isolated branch in an established azalea. Spraying is seldom justified. Merely prune the dead branches out of the plants.
