Question: My plants’ (canna, vinca groundcover, sweetgum, redbud, pyracantha, persimmon) leaves are stuck together. There appeas to be small worms between the leaves. How can I control them?
Answer: You are talking about leafrollers. They sequester themselves between two or more leaves. Their larvae develop there until they pupate, emerge as adult moths and fly to new homes to repeat the process. Leafrollers ruin plants’ good looks and they also weaken the plants. Apply a systemic insecticide 2 to 3 weeks before you traditionally would see their damage start to occur.
