Question: My Chinese pistachio tree doesn’t seem to be branching very well. It’s tall and gangly. Should I cut it back?

Answer: That’s fairly normal for them until they’re several years old. Once they establish a strong trunk they seem to start branching out and filling in better. Usually you wouldn’t want to prune it, other than to remove branches that are obviously growing out of bounds.
