Question: I have moss growing on the trunk of my pecan tree. Is it damaging?

Answer: In no way. Just ignore it. It’s a lichen, a growth of algae and funguses living together. It does no harm to the tree. It uses the tree’s trunk only as its support. In fact, you’ll even see lichens growing on boulders.
