Question: I have two really difficult weeds, wild violets and wild onions. What will kill them?
Answer: Both can be killed with a broadleafed weedkiller, even though only the wild violets have what you would call “broad” leaves. Neither is a grass, so the broadleafed herbicides are appropriate. Use a fine spray pattern to coat the leaves without runoff, and, if necessary, mix one or two drops of a liquid dishwashing detergent to help the spray stick on the leaves. Spring is the time to treat.
