Question: How do I fertilize my groundcover bed? How often, and with what?

Answer: You can use a complete-and-balanced water-soluble plant food initially. Apply it with a siphoning proportioner on your garden hose, and apply it each time that you water for the first month or two, just to get the new groundcover off to a quicker start. Use the same fertilizer you use on your lawngrass and at the same intervals. Use a hand-held rotary spreader to distribute it over the bed, and water thoroughly after the application. Be certain it does not contain any type of herbicide.
