Question: How do I know when it’s time to repot my houseplants?
Answer: There are several clues. If you’re having to water the plant far more often than you once did, it’s probably root-bound. If the plant is more than three or four times as tall or wide as its pot, it probably needs a larger home. If, on taking it out of its pot, you can see that the roots are wound around and around inside the pot wall, it’s time to repot. Cut through any encircling roots to promote vigorous new root development.
