Question: How do I pick the best herbs for my garden? Which types do well?

Answer: Entire books are written on herbs, and most will tell you to grow the types your family enjoys the most. Some of the easiest and most rewarding include all the different and lovely types of basil, chives (great as a low border plant in the landscape), dill (with its graceful textures), scented geraniums with their wonderful foliage, all the types of mints (be careful of their invasive nature), parsley (makes a lovely annual edging plant), rosemary (as a semi-hardy small shrub), all the beautiful sages and the various thymes. All of these are readily available at their seasons (usually in spring).
