Answer: Pansies would almost always win that competition. They’re a lot less expensive, and they bloom for many weeks longer. Primroses are elegant flowers, but they don’t show up as well as pansies, and they have a tendency toward fungal leaf spot during wet weather. If you use them, start with a large patio pot and use primroses around the base of some taller centerpiece plant.
