Question: How important is it that I rotate my crops in my vegetable garden? I don’t have much room, and I don’t have much sunlight. I really can’t move the plantings very far.

Answer: Crop rotation, as farmers will tell us, keeps problems from accumulating. If you grow the same plant in the same soil year after year, insect and disease problems that are specific to it can eventually build up to serious proportions. Until that begins to happen, however, you can stay with your existing planting plans.
