Question: How much sunlight can liriope and mondograss take?
Answer: If they’re out in open lawn areas, away from hot, reflective surfaces, and in really well-prepared beds, they will do well with full morning and perhaps some afternoon sun in the summer. Winter sun under deciduous shade trees does them no harm. If you notice the plants are losing their rich deep green color where they’re exposed to the sun, and if you’re giving them the best possible care, you need to move them to a shadier spot and change to a more sun-tolerant groundcover.
