Question: I bought some pecans that were really high quality. Can I plant some of the nuts where I’d like to grow several trees?
Answer: Yes, but you won’t get the same varieties back. You’d be far better advised to buy budded trees of a named variety. What you would end up with if you planted the seeds would essentially be just native pecans – good trees, but unpredictable for growth form, pest resistance and fruit yield and quality.
