Question: I have a croton, but it isn’t as colorful as it was when I bought it. All of its newest leaves are bright green. Is there some nutrient I need to be adding?

Answer: That’s caused by darker indoor conditions. If you move it to a spot where it gets more light, the new growth that it produces after the move should regain the colorful variegation. You may also have to prune it back somewhat, to eliminate some of the green foliage and to keep the plant from getting too lanky.
