Question: I see Asian pears in the grocery store, and I’d like to grow my own if I can. I have seen them in the nurseries, but I don’t hear much about them. Please advise.

Answer: Asian pears seem to be quite susceptible to fire blight. If you want to try one in your landscape, do so with that forewarning.
