Question: I think my pittosporum has frozen. How can I tell for sure?

Answer: Look at its trunk. If the bark is falling away, that’s freeze injury. It will show up within just a couple of days of extreme cold. Green pittosporums are the least likely to have winter damage, followed by variegated, then Wheeler’s dwarf and finally, the variegated form of Wheeler’s dwarf, which is really only adapted along the Gulf Coast and in deep South Texas.
