Question: I’ve tried several different types of perennial summer phlox that I had in my garden in the North. Only the hot pink types seems to establish. Is that common?

Answer: That’s the same experience most of us have had in Texas. The pink type is really good in morning sun and afternoon shade, although you may have to treat for powdery mildew occasionally. The other types just don’t have the same stamina.
