Question: My Christmas cactus plant’s stems are shriveled, and the plant is toppling over. What causes that?

Answer: It’s usually because of spider mites attacking the stems at the ground line, or it can be caused by really sunny locations where the plant’s tissues actually scorch. Use a labeled insecticide for the mites, and, if lighting is excessive, move it to a bright, but shaded, location.
