Question: My cucumbers’ leaves are starting to develop very tiny tan spots all over them. Is that caused by an insect? What should I do?

Answer: That’s the beginning of spider mite damage. Thump one of the leaves over white paper. You should be able to see the nearly microscopic mites moving on the paper. Control them by spraying with a labeled general-purpose insecticide.
