Question: My photinias don’t have very good red color. Why?

Answer: You may be pruning them in late winter, in which case you’re cutting off all the buds that would produce the new, red growth. It’s even more likely that they’re in shade part or all of the day. It’s still more likely that they’re not vigorous, because of one of the pest problems we’ve mentioned.
