Question: My St. Augustine has runners that arch out over the lawn. What causes that, and do I need to be concerned?

Answer: That’s a very common situation with St. Augustine. It usually seems to develop when the grass needs to be fertilized. However, if you don’t need or want to fertilize, just lift them up with your foot as you’re mowing, then let the blade shred them on the next pass around the lawn. They are basically a non-issue.
