Question: My St. Augustine has yellow spots that are almost circular. It’s happened in the same areas in previous autumns. The grass does seem to come back, but I lost one of the spots in a cold spell a couple of years ago.

Answer: That’s probably brown patch. If you pull on the leaf blades, and if they come loose easily from the runners, that’s the problem. You’ll notice that the blades are browned and deteriorated where they attach to the runners. Control it with a listed fungicide.
