Question: We have a tree with several limbs that all converge at the same point. They trap water for days after a rain. Should we try to get the water out of the well, or should we fill it with concrete?
Answer: Clean it out to see if the wood is still sound. If it is, leave it alone. If one or more of the branches is expendable, and if removing it would allow the water to drain, take it off. Most trees’ bark is able to repel water, and it’s generally best to do nothing. You might want to have an arborist look at it, however.
