Question: What kind of heat source should I have for my greenhouse?
Answer: If you use gas, it must have a vent to prevent build-up of toxic fumes. Electric heat works well for small greenhouses, but you’ll have to have an emergency back-up heat source should the power go out. A portable kerosene heater would work well, but use it only as long as necessary, to prevent accumulation of toxic fumes and smoke residue. Have a temperature alarm to alert you to problems that may be developing. If your greenhouse is fairly large you’ll want some type of fan to circulate the warm air around in it.
