Question: What can I do to make my Texas mountain laurel grow faster? I know they get 10 feet tall, but mine just isn’t making progress.

Answer: You can apply a high-nitrogen or all-nitrogen, lawn-type fertilizer to encourage more rapid growth, but, even with the feeding, they’re going to be among our most deliberate shrubs. Buy larger plants whenever possible.
