Question: What type of plum is it that has red leaves and edible red fruit? I thought that all the purple-leafed plums were fruitless.

Answer: That’s probably the variety called Allred (for obvious reasons). Its leaves will take on a greenish-red tint once it gets hot, and the fruit is of very acceptable quality. It’s an interesting dual-purpose tree for ornament and fruit production.
