Question: What type of pot is better for my houseplants, clay or plastic?

Answer: Both are entirely satisfactory. You will need to make minor adjustments in watering, however. Plastic pots retain water longer, since none escapes through the pots’ side walls. Plastic pots are much easier to clean and re-use, but clay pots are more natural looking, plus they’re heavier and less likely to tip over. Plastic pots are far less likely to break. The choice is yours.
