Answer: Apples are best suited to North and North Central Texas. In that area, you’ll do best with Gala, Golden Delicious, Jonathan, Holland, and several of the Red Delicious types. In South Texas you can plant Anna and Dorsett Golden. Remember that red apples won’t develop their really deep red colors as they ripen in Texas’ summer conditions.
