Question: What vines are best against the walls of my house?
Answer: In sun, Boston ivy is excellent in most of Texas. If you want a smaller version, plant ‘Lowi’ Boston ivy. Purple wintercreeper euonymus would be an interesting option for sun or part sun. If you need something to cover a really large wall surface, Virginia creeper will do the job. In South Texas climbing fig ivy is the vine of choice, and in shade, you’ll probably want to use English ivy or one of its selections.
