Question: What will kill nutgrass in my lawn and in my flower beds?
Answer: Nurseries offer a couple of effective options. Both are sprayed onto the infested area, then watered into the root zone of the nutsedge (not a true grass). They must be applied from mid-May into mid-September, while the weed is growing most actively. They may stunt the growth of your turfgrass somewhat, but they won’t do harm to it. Be patient, as it usually takes several weeks before you’ll begin to see the results. A second application 30 days later is often justified.
