Question: When can I plant my caladiums? The nurseries start getting them in in February, but I’m told that’s way too early.
Answer: Caladiums are tropical plants, and they require soil temperatures approaching 70 degrees. That means you should wait until one month after the last killing freeze in your area. If you want to wait even longer than that, so much the better. You can actually plant caladium tubers into mid-summer and still get the same number of weeks of good color from them.
