Question: When should I plant crocus in my bulb garden?

Answer: True crocus don’t do very well here in the sunny Southwest. If you’re going to try them, plant them shallowly in late fall, just before the coldest part of the winter. Yellow fall crocus (Sternbergia lutea) is a much better performer here.
